Sometimes the campsite is every bit as important as the destination.

We've brought together a collection of campsites we think are worth discovering – from peaceful little countryside hideaways to sites perfectly placed for exploring the coast, countryside and some of Britain's most beautiful places.

We particularly love smaller, independent sites with plenty of space, a friendly welcome and somewhere interesting to explore nearby. And, because we know how many adventures are better with four paws alongside you, we'll always highlight which sites welcome dogs.

Some are places we've stayed ourselves, some we've worked at and others are simply great finds we think are worth sharing.
